Flat stomach - mission impossible? These 4 tips will make the difference

Everyone is trying to lose their belly! Depending on your body type (yes that matters) it will be different for everyone. The one thing that is THE SAME FOR EVERYONE....

"ABS start in the kitchen"

So, the kitchen can help or hinder your abdominal area....so here are my top five tips and a few exercises you should do at least two to three times per week:


FOOD:


  1. H20 at least 3 litres per day. You may think it bloats you however it's the foods you eat and lack of water that bloats you. Water will help clean out your kidneys by removing waste faster!

  2. Increase proteins and reduce carbs & high fatty foods- ever hear of the wheat or beer belly. It's ALL true. Proteins reduce cravings by balancing your blood sugar levels while too many carbs end up getting stored as fats...

  3. No simple sugars - at all.

  4. Eats lots of soluble fibre (oats, apples, peas, carrots, barley, strawberries, citrus fruits)

  5. Reduce (don't eliminate) salt intake.

And as an added bonus:


Stop dieting!!! Eat this, don't eat that. It can be so frustrating. However your body needs balance and every time you "diet" then stop "dieting" your body truly gets confused. Simply eat lean meats, fruits & veggies, nuts & seeds, legumes and drink lots of water.


BEST WORKOUTS FOR HELPING ABS "DEFINE"


Cardio - 5x - 6x/week

- Cardio machines

- Running/Jogging (not walking - power walks yes but no "strolling")

- Bootcamp

- HIIT classes


Strength Training - 2x - 3x/week

Your core consists of your abs, your lower back, thighs and glutes


Core Specific Training 2x/week (add these exercises in 1 minute intervals 2 - 3x)

- Plank

- Side Plank

- Crunches

- Cycling (opposite shoulder to opposite knee)

- Sit ups

- Back extensions

- Single Leg Single arm drops (google deadbug)

- Double leg drops
